The Aus-X Open set to make an explosive return to Sydney in 2017

Following two successive years of unmissable action sports entertainment, the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere – the AUS-X Open, will make an emphatic return to Sydney Olympic Park, on November 11 and 12.

The second largest indoor venue in Australia, Qudos Bank Arena, will again play host to the third instalment of international Supercross and Freestyle Motocross competition.

Once again, the best talent from around the world will make the trip down under to go head-to-head with the best Australia has to offer, in front of a capacity crowd across two nights of unscripted racing and action.

The AUS-X Open Sydney has experienced a meteoric rise to becoming one of the most recognised and prestigious events on the international Supercross and Freestyle Motocross calendar. In 2016, over 26,000 people from around Australia and overseas, packed the stands to see their home town hero from nearby Kurri Kurri – Chad Reed, dominate proceedings by winning both nights of racing.

Event Co-Founder and Director Adam Bailey, from AME Management, is thrilled to announce the AUS-X Open’s return for 2017 and says plans are well underway to ensure fans are treated to a sensory overload, unlike any other sporting event in the world.

“Since its inception, the purpose of the AUS-X Open was to combine the most incredible live sports action, with concert like entertainment values, to ensure an unrivalled spectator experience from the moment they arrive in Sydney Olympic Park,” Bailey said.

“Last year’s event was broadcast throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific and North America to a viewership of over 300 million households. Coupled with the AUS-X Open interactive Social Media approach we’ve engaged with sports fans far and wide to bring an all star action sports extravaganza to millions of eyeballs across the globe.

“The AUS-X Open continues to go from strength to strength, and that is a huge testament to our loyal fans who continue to support the event and the amazingly talented athletes and teams who compete at the highest standard on the planet, for our entertainment.

“The AUS-X Open would not be the event it is, in the beautiful city of Sydney, without the support of the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency – Destination NSW. We are extremely proud of our partnership with DNSW and look forward to seeing thousands make the trip to Sydney once again to enjoy the event and an epic weekend away with friends and family,” Bailey added.

NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Adam Marshall said, “It’s great to see the AUS-X Open coming back to Western Sydney for another year. I look forward to seeing it build on the last two years, which saw huge crowds and amazing action on and off the track. The event is once again supported by the NSW Government, and I encourage all fans of Supercross racing to make plans to get to Qudos Bank Arena for this must-see event.”

Global Supercross megastars such as Australia’s greatest ever – Chad Reed; Ricky Carmichael; Ryan Villopoto; Cooper Webb; Justin Brayton and many more have graced the floor of the AUS-X Open Sydney event.

Bailey insists that 2017 will not only live up to expectations, but blow them away for a third time. The AUS-X Open is the only event in the Southern Hemisphere that combines world class Supercross racing, with insane Freestyle Motocross competition.

“We’re well under way with plans to not only secure an incredible line up of riders, but have a whole host of announcements that will shock and amaze fans. There’s nowhere you’d rather be than in Sydney, on November 11 and 12.”

The 2017 AUS-X Open event also incorporates Rounds 4 and 5 of the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship. The depth of the field for this year’s instalment will without a doubt be the most competitive ever seen on Australian shores.

With each Saturday night selling out within days in both 2015 & 2016, and last year’s Sunday event almost reaching capacity, fans are urged to sign up to the AUS-X Open pre-sale registration to avoid disappointment.

Further announcements regarding the athlete line up, revised ticket pricing and more are still to come. Signing up to the pre-sale ensures first preference of ALL seating on both nights of competition.
