From Origin to Off-Road – Reece Walsh trades turf for Supercross track as Boost Mobile AUSX Championship Ambassador at Kayo stadium
NRL star frontlines Australia’s fastest motorsport and launches Kids Go Free initiative for the Boost Mobile AUSX Moreton Bay Double-Header.
Queensland NRL superstar Reece Walsh has officially swapped the footy field for the track, stepping out at Kayo Stadium in full Supercross racing kit as the new Official Ambassador for the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship.
The unprecedented crossover — an NRL Origin hero headlining Australia’s fastest-growing motorsport — was celebrated in true Queensland style. Walsh was flanked by Supercross champions Luke Clout (SX1 Penrite Empire Kawasaki), Nathan Crawford (SX1 KTM Factory), and development riders Nixon Darrah (SX3) & Nate Perrett (85cc KTM Factory), as the Championship gears up for its blockbuster 2025 launch.
Walsh also fronted a game-changing family initiative, announcing Kids U12 Go FREE for the opening Moreton Bay Double-Header at Redcliffe, October 11–12, alongside the chance for young fans to WIN an exclusive track walk with Walsh and AUSX riders. Showcasing his passion for sharing the sport with young fans.
Reece Walsh said:
“If I wasn’t playing footy, I’d probably be racing Supercross. I’ve loved this sport since I was a kid, and now I want every young Queenslander to feel the same energy and excitement. That’s why I’m making sure kids get in free — it’s my invitation to families to come and see what Supercross is all about.”
AUSX Managing Director, Kelly Bailey, said Walsh’s involvement is a milestone moment for the sport:
“Reece Walsh is one of the biggest names in Australian sport — having him as the face of the Boost Mobile AUSX Championship is fantastic for Supercross. His genuine passion for dirt bikes, combined with his reach into mainstream sporting audiences, will help us take Supercross to a whole new audience. Most importantly, his commitment to giving back to kids and families aligns perfectly with our aspirations to offer value to sports fans.”
With 6,000 tonnes of dirt trucked into Dolphins Stadium, fans will see bar-to-bar battles, jaw-dropping stunts, live entertainment, and family-friendly action zones — as Reece Walsh takes his place among Australia’s best riders for the season-launch in October.
