Scotsman Dean Wilson to return to Melbourne via Auckland

Fan favourite Dean Wilson is coming back to compete in Auckland and Melbourne in 2019, much to the delight of Aussie and Kiwi Supercross Racing fans.

The Scottish Thunder will return to both Auckland and Melbourne in the Monster Energy S-X Open Auckland and Monster Energy AUS-X Open Melbourne which are Rounds 4 and 5 of the Australian Supercross Championship.

The 27 year old raced to a career-best sixth overall during this year’s Monster Energy FIM World Supercross Championship as well as a third-place finish at the Houston round, but after an injury forced him out of the last two rounds, Wilson says he’ll be back for redemption in November and hopes to finish the year off with a bang.

“I’m super excited to be returning to the AUS-X Open again this year, my 2019 season was up and down, but I’ll be pushing hard for it in Melbourne, I’ll be definitely out there to get my redemption and come out on top,” said Wilson.

“Obviously I’ve had some amazing results the past two years at AUS-X winning the Saturday night in 2017, and coming in second last year, I feel like I have what it takes third time around Down Under.

“In Auckland last year I had a blast and we finished agonisingly close to winning it so I’m coming back for redemption in 2019!”

The S-X Open Auckland and AUS-X Open Melbourne are rounds 4 and 5 of the Australian Supercross Championship and are sanctioned by Motorcycling Australia (MA).

The AUS-X Open Melbourne is supported by the Victorian tourism and major events agency Visit Victoria and Monster Energy.

The S-X Open Auckland is proudly supported by Auckland Tourism Events & Economic Development (ATEED) and Monster Energy.

Both the Monster Energy S-X Open Auckland and AUS-X Open Melbourne events will form part of the S-X Open International FIM Oceania Supercross Championship, sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme with FIM Oceania status and sanctioning, it will be the most unique and credible international Supercross Championship outside of the USA in 2019.
