2024 Fox Australian Supercross Championship Opens with a Sold-Out Spectacle in Moreton Bay
The 2024 Fox Australian Supercross Championship kicked off in spectacular fashion at the Moreton Bay Double Header at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe, QLD, where a sold-out crowd packed the stands to witness intense battles across all four classes: SX1, SX2, SX3, and the CR22 Cup.
Reigning champion Dean Wilson was unstoppable, securing victories in both SX1 main events. In the first race, Wilson overcame challenges from Luke Clout, Aaron Tanti, and Joey Savatgy to take the lead and finish five seconds ahead. Wilson then sealed the night with a commanding holeshot in the second race, completing a perfect 1-1 result. Savatgy finished second overall, while Clout rounded out the podium in third.
Noah Ferguson emerged victorious in the SX2 class, claiming the overall win with an impressive performance. After winning the first race, Ferguson capitalized on the chaos in the second, securing the top spot with a late move into fifth. Reid Taylor and Ryder Kingsford completed the podium, finishing second and third overall.
In SX3, Seth Burchell led from start to finish, holding off pressure from Jake Cannon to take the win. Cannon finished second, while Kayd Kingsford recovered from a mid-race fall to claim third.
The CR22 85cc Cup saw Jack Nunn make a thrilling last-corner pass to reclaim the lead from Cooper Ford, securing a dramatic victory. Seth Thomas completed the podium in third.
